Everyone has seen her, and most of us, at one time or another, have been lured to her by her bright colors and flashing images. The flash of neon and the alluringly undulating ‘Win! Win! Win!’ which pulses across her screen. It’s the video game which gives the player just a hint of the chance of winning cash instead of points. Of course this little tease is known as the video poker machine.
Of course if you have fallen for the tease of the video poker machine, you’ll know that she doesn’t give up the cash as easily as she portends she will. That’s part of her appeal to the player, to get her to finally give in to them and pay off. She is a paradox of beauty and frustration.
Just once wouldn’t you like to beat her at her own game? Do you yearn to make her finally pay off to you? Then read on friend, for I have some tips which will maximize your chances to make the little beauty keep her promises of a win.
As with any game of chance where money is involved, the first rule to live by is to limit how much you’re willing to lose. Make a promise to yourself that you’ll quit before you lose your shirt. Know before you begin where to draw the line if you start to suffer huge losses, and make certain you stick to your pledge to walk away.
As you would in regular poker, take your time and look over your cards each hand. You should take an ample amount of time to consider what strategy you wish to pursue with each new hand. Since there are no other people involved, your mechanized opponent will be patient with you. I have yet to see a video poker machine with a time limit, so don’t feel pressured into hasty decisions.
Always play maximum coins, for the payout will be based on amount of coins played. Playing fewer coins doesn’t guarantee playing longer. Always pick a machine which gives the best payout to coin ratio. If you want to play longer with less coin, then seek out a lower coin machine.
Practice at the many free video poker machines available to you at online casinos. Most online casinos offer free to play video poker machines. Use these to both hone your skills and build your confidence in playing video poker.
Playing video poker can be as much fun as playing regular poker. It presents you with unique opportunities and allows you to play at your own pace. If you follow the above tips, you’ll also increase your chances of walking away a winner.
Video Poker combines both the luck of the draw and the skill of the player. Luck comes into play when the video poker machine randomly deals out the player’s cards. Skill on the part of the player is needed to know which cards to keep and which cards to discard. Although luck is a big factor in the game, the likelihood of winning increases based on the amount of skill the player possesses.
No matter what the skill level the player has, it’s important to know what to keep and what to discard if you want to end up with a winning hand. It’s essential to know the types of winning hands that are available in video poker if the player is playing to win.
The smart player knows the patterns to look for, which will make the difference between them winning big and losing it all. Here is a listing of the most common combination of video poker hands ranked from the highest possible to the lowest.
Sequential Royal Flush: This is a hand which occurs when the cards fall in exact order and suit, like 10 Spades, J Spades, Q Spades, K Spades, and A Spades. Remember this is video poker, and that the Sequential Royal Flush is different from the Royal Flush.
Royal Flush: This is when you get a same suit flush with the cards 10 Hearts, Q Hearts, J Hearts, A Hearts, and K Hearts in any order. As long as all the cards are there, the order is not an issue.
Straight Flush: The Straight Flush occurs when all five cards are in sequence, and all five cards are of the same suit 4 Spades, 5 Spades, 6 Spades, 7 Spades, and 8 Spades.
Four of a Kind: Four of a Kind is when there are four cards which all possess the same rank 5 Diamonds, 5 Spades, 5 Clubs, and 5 Hearts.
Full House: The Full House is three of a kind plus a pair. Suit does not come into play with a Full House. A good example of a Full house would be 5 Diamonds, 5 Clubs, 5 Hearts, 7 Clubs, and 7 Spades.
Flush: The Flush is when the player gets five cards with all having the same suit. Rank makes no difference with this hand. It’s the suit that is featured in the Flush. For an example; 2 Hearts, 4 Hearts, 5 Hearts, 7 Hearts, 10 Hearts.
Straight: A player holds a Straight when all five cards held are in rank sequence. With the following hand, the player would have a Straight; 2 Hearts, 3 Clubs, 4 Spades, 5 Hearts, 6 Diamonds.
Three of a Kind: When a player is dealt three cards all of which have the same rank, they have Three of a Kind. The remaining two cards do not count as anything in the hand. The suit of the cards does not matter with this hand. An example of this hand is 4 Hearts, 4 Clubs, and 4 Spades.
Two Pair: Two Pair is when the player has two pairs of cards, each set of a different rank. An example of this hand is 3 Diamonds, 3 Clubs, 5 Hearts and 5 Spades.
One Pair: One Pair is two cards of the same rank, regardless of the suit. An example of this hand is 7 Diamonds and 7 Hearts.
An unlikely partnership between the wife of a deployed National Guardsmen and video gamers across America has been created to support the troops. Molly Johnson, who is best likened to a human dynamo, has been working tirelessly to involve video gamers in the support of U.S. servicemen and their families. ‘I know that early adopters create most of the consumer generated media on the internet,’ stated Ms. Johnson. ‘Video gamers are certainly early adopters and I need them to spread the word online that our troops need everyone’s back-up. Most of our soldiers abroad are on the internet during their free time and I want them to see that America is supporting them.’
The internet is the 21st century equivalent to Armed Forces Radio. Many servicemen overseas rely on internet access for news, information and contact with home. Johnson’s strategy involves mobilizing video gamers, who do in fact generate a tremendous amount of the content one sees on the internet. Gamers are also active in terms of blogging and social network activity. They are prolific in terms of disseminating their views online.
How Johnson is enlisting their help is what is so unique. She first recruited one of the fastest growing massive multi-player online game developers in the world, MVP Networks, to join ranks with her. MVP currently has over 500,000 players participating in two of their offerings’Redline Thunder Racing and Golden Fairway. The company is now donating 100% of the proceeds from those who sign up for either of MVP’s games when they go to www.playforfreedom.com. ‘The minute I heard about what Molly was doing I signed on,’ said Paul Schneider, CEO of MVP Networks. ‘Many of our subscribers are obviously NASCAR fans and are inclined to assist the military and their families’.
Johnson has selected Operation Homefront to be the recipient of the proceeds from her efforts. ‘I looked at what Operation Homefront was doing with families of deployed service members and this is exactly the type of program that is meeting the needs of the deployed and returning servicemen and servicewomen along with their families.’ Operation Homefront has as its main purpose making a difference in the quality of military family life. ‘When I started our program emergencies would crop up in the lives of many families precisely when the spouse was deployed thousands of miles away,’ stated Amy Palmer. ‘It seems like ‘Murphy’s Law’ applies the minute after the spouse goes overseas. We are here to help with emergencies that seem insurmountable to the family at home.’
Although there certainly are differing views on the subject of current operations in Iraq, there is little if any debate as to the courage and professionalism of the U.S. military. Support for the troops is universal in that everyone wishes them well and prays for their safety. What is unique about the current civilian efforts during this era of conflict is the number of individuals like Molly Johnson who are stepping outside of their comfort zone to help the troops. ‘I obviously have direct appreciation and understanding for what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. My husband, in his capacity as a Guardsmen, has been deployed for 3 months so far of a 1 year deployment,’ explained Johnson. ‘I saw how committed he was to the mission and knew I had to help out any way possible.’
Johnson is now reaching out to other companies involved in the consumer generated media world such as E3Flix.com which is modeling itself as a combination of Netflix and YouTube, and In Touch Media Group, an online publicity firm based in Florida, to get her message out on the internet. She has an immediate goal of gaining over 100,000 people to participate in Play For Freedom. ‘The response I have already received from so many people has been overwhelming,’ stated Johnson. ‘Paul Schneider stepped up swiftly to help out and seemingly threw every company resource he has to get this program off the ground,’ she added. Play For Freedom is also supported by AT&T, Boeing, Clear Channel, KBR, Lincoln Property Life, and Pit Crew Live.
It is also easy to see why Johnson is focusing on internet gamers as a resource for Play For Freedom. The video gaming industry is six times as large as the movie industry in terms of annual revenues. Over twenty million males from 18 to 30 years old play video games twenty hours or more a week. Selecting a NASCAR style massive multi-player game was no accident either. Redline Thunder Racing, developed by MVP Networks, is one of the featured games Johnson is promoting as a donations tool which enables her to reach out to the 75 million NASCAR fans making up the fastest growing sport in America.
For those people who are looking to actively participate as supporters of the troops, Johnson’s efforts should be seriously considered. Americans have long been noted for their charity at an individual level. Without any prodding from private or public institutions, tens of thousands of individuals are stepping up to make the lives of all those directly connected to the current war effort easier. Molly Johnson is yet another example of how creative people can be in their efforts to help others.
You need to be prepared for the saturation of wholesale video games distributor phenomena that is going to take place and start appearing on the Internet in the following weeks when the Playstation 3 hits the stores in the first weeks of November of this year. Right now there are many buyers taking advantage of the eBay craze of selling Playstation 3 consoles at almost three times the current retail price that is due in launch day. The price of the Playstation 3 will be $600 for the premium package- can you believe what will happen when those PS3 consoles hit the market the hungriness that it will leave for many small based business online?
What I am trying to warn you about is that there will be hundreds if not thousands possible fake wholesale video games distributors that will try to start selling PS3 on the Internet at supposed wholesale prices and even below wholesale prices for such new consoles. While their will be many wholesale games distributors for the purchase of video games and even PS3 related material, as a power seller myself- I will not recommend touching sites that say that you can get Playstation 3 consoles and games at 50-80% in wholesale prices for numerous reasons.
While you can certainly buy wholesale games at 40-95% below the market retail value- you should not be able to purchase legit wholesale PS3 items below wholesale for at least the first 2 years. If you have study this wholesale market- you can compare what happened with PS3 biggest competitor. If you understand what happened here you should know that such giant corporations are not launching a huge stock of consoles in launching dates for numerous marketing reasons. If you remember what happened a year ago with such PS2 and now PS3 competitor, you will know what I am talking about.
You will certainly know that you cannot buy at 50-95% Playstation 3 in any way with direct online distributors or offline distributors or wholesalers. Why? Ask yourself why a company like Sony will allow the sell of wholesale items on their upcoming best-seller at wholesale prices? It is virtually unreasonable to give a seller permit to distribute and sell PS3 at way below retail prices. How do you think that the fortune 500 retail companies will profit from this boom? How do you think that all the companies and CEO owners that hold major stocks at their distribution line will feel if they do not receive a clear cut commission out of the sell of in-demand new market consoles if their were wholesale video games distributors selling below retail prices?
Again, in the sell of wholesale items both online and offline I can honestly say to you not to look for this wholesale hype prices that are not true for at least the next 2 years. It is of my sole experience and in my opinion to give you- the no, no when it comes to buying PS3 at real wholesale prices for at least the first year. A Power seller who earns thousands selling wholesale in combined business on the Internet and offline can confirm this for you. Use this article as reference and never as wholesale video games distributor legal advice or as a buying guide for online or offline business.
Getting wholesale video games today gets in many rising entrepreneurial minds and in most home entertaining bargain hunting seekers-faster and easier than ever. The usual when wanting games at good cheap prices is to go to the local Sam Club and purchase one or two games at for example the $13.36-$19.86 prices that I see most often here at the states. I even see local businesses believe that the best way to get bargain cheap items is by buying wholesale from general local wholesalers and liquidation centers.
For the average businessman that does not like to do their own diligence for getting entertainment games at the greatest wholesale prices- it is fine and ok to purchase locally every week or every other month. Nothing bad with that, but is it enough if you are a wholesale addict like myself or an also entrepreneur like many of us that love playing Xbox wholesale games while getting to make thousands of dollars every month from the comfort of home and having multiple tangible business offline and online. The businesses that need the greatest sources, the greatest prices and the best wholesale business relationships for getting wholesale video games and every other entertainment and business need when it is in-demand for both your home and your consumer relationship with your business.
Today savings get harder and business indeed gets a lot more stronger but better than ever. It is of my fact, that the better wholesale sources that you get- the far better business that you will be able to get because of selling at what I love to call, cheap prices. Reality is, the majority in the wholesale business sell for the purpose of getting a 20-30% mark-up when they can get a comfortable 50-80% if having the mentality that both the home entertaining needs and online and offline business profits get made when you make the initial wholesale purchase, not when you sell the item.
Whether you end up buying real estate, DVDs, audio or what I love to sell both online and offline, games at wholesale prices-you make your profits when you buy from certain distributors and wholesalers, not when you sell. The profits are always dependent on how low you purchase and what service you ultimately provide when it comes to the sell of tangible items both locally and on the net. It is evident and clear to my wallet that the chances of selling for say: Xbox wholesale games at very cheap prices- will not depend solely on the service, image or credibility you have as a brand- but generally to the average consumer, it will be the price that you offer and low risk type of guaranteed that will have them craving for your wholesale video games business.

Home video game consoles have come a long way from the original 8-bit systems. One huge benefit to the wholesale industry is the console wars, and the continual release of new video games, accessories, and even entire game systems. These console wars and new releases mean the games and systems replaced are now the hottest commodities on the wholesale market. Here is a quick guide to the wholesale video game world by system.
Let’s begin with an overview of the world of video games. There are three major console players: Nintendo, Microsoft, and the largest one, Sony. Each company has released what are now called third generation consoles. These consoles are the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Prior to the third generation consoles, gamers had Nintendo’s GameCube, Microsoft’s Xbox, and Sony’s PlayStation 2 to keep their thumbs in shape. The games and accessories of these second generation consoles are what primarily make up the wholesale video game market today. One key aspect to keeping these wholesale games and overstock video game accessories in value is backward compatibility. Backward compatibility is the ability of older video games and accessories, such as controllers and memory cards, to interface with newer generation consoles.
The saving grace of the Nintendo GameCube games and accessories are backward compatible with the Nintendo Wii. Wholesale retailers can capitalize on the fact the Nintendo GameCube, and Wii appeal to younger game players, so customers of wholesale GameCube games are less concerned with the lack of graphics and innovation. Additionally, Nintendo’s GameCube controller and memory card is compatible with the new generation Wii, and a requirement for some games’ backward compatibility.
Top selling wholesale video game titles for the Nintendo GameCube include Animal Crossing, Super Monkey Ball, and anything Super Mario or Zelda franchise related. Parents will appreciate the general nonviolent nature of Nintendo GameCube games, and therefore the shelf-life for wholesale accessories and games is long. Purchase of the Nintendo GameCube at wholesale prices is the best first console for children aged six and above, and for those adults who still have a child at heart.
Xbox is the least backward compatible console to its third generation counterpart. In typical Microsoft fashion, Xbox 360 players must download a patch for individual Xbox games they desire to play on the Xbox 360. Also, since memory cards are almost unnecessary to save progress, there is no sense to install the Xbox’s now dwarfed 10GB hard drive in place of the Xbox 360′s 20GB or even 120GB hard drive. Popular titles for the Xbox franchise continue to be the Halo series and EA Sports titles, all of which can be found readily available in wholesale video game bargain bins. Wholesale Xbox consoles and games will appeal most to late comers in the violent and action packed video game genres, and those unwilling to spring for the hefty price tag of the Xbox 360.
Wholesale PlayStation 2 consoles, games, and accessories are the best solution for wholesale video game retailers. First, the price is much more stable because of the near complete backward compatibility of the wholesale PlayStation 2 games on the new third generation PlayStation 3. Also, the PlayStation 2 is the only second generation console still receiving support; new game titles and accessories are released in conjunction with the same title release for the third generation consoles. The next biggest advantage of wholesale PlayStation 2 games and accessories is the vastness of its catalog and reach. Over 120 million consoles have sold worldwide and game titles range from the cutesy Lego series for kids to the hard core action packed Call of Duty franchise. The shelf-life and profit margin is the highest for wholesale PlayStation 2 games and accessories.
With the great number of video games for sale and the huge variety of video games that are downloadable through the internet, it probably will not surprise you to learn that 60 percent of the American population has played some kind of video game. They are rivalling baseball as the great American pastime. Indeed, there are versions of baseball and NFL available as video games. Video games grew out of our fascination with computers and they are played by young and old alike. Video game playing is not limited to kids and teenagers, although children are starting to play video games at younger and more tender ages.
Nearly half of all American children aged 4 to 6 are estimated to have played video games, and a new market has sprung up to develop video games to involve toddlers and make computers more attractive for them to use. More attractive to children! Kids take to computers better than ducks to water, and stay connected for life. As of 2005, a quarter of the children in the aged four to six age group who have played computer games say it is a regular habit. The toddler, of course, cannot yet talk about their video game habits. But their parents report that children, especially boys have lost interest in playing with their traditional toys like action figures, Legos, and puzzles and prefer video games. However, kids are not the primary users of video games. Their parents played video games as children and teenagers.
We are now experiencing the phenomenon of second-generation video game players. Video games have been around since the 1970′s, clearly enough time for some third generation players to come upon the scene. Side to side, mouse to mouse with the kids are the adults who have never stopped playing or who began playing as adults. Adults represent the largest group of video game players and the average age of video gamers is 29. Certainly, the older generation has the good sense to avoid this costly, time consuming habit, you may think. Think again – 17 percent of gamers are 50 years of age and older. If this keeps up, retirement communities are no longer able to offer Bingo and Cribbage as recreational bonuses. The baby boom generation will head into its twilight years amid Dungeons and Dragons competitions.
The joy of mindlessly zoning out in virtual reality instead of actually doing something or speaking to someone is so compelling that video games are now a multibillion-dollar business. The video game companies often rival the stock exchange earnings of energy corporations and pharmaceutical companies. Nintendo often beats the earnings of major Hollywood studios. In 2004, 9.9 billion dollars was spent on video games, on consoles like PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube, and on hand-held systems like Game Boy and Nintendo DS in the U.S. alone. Of course, America is the leader in video game retail but the rest of the world is far behind, making video game stocks a hot commodity. But no one is interested in “playing ‘ the stock market anymore; they’re all to busy playing video games.
Even if the PS3 came out with a bit of a slow start in 2007 don’t let that fool you… the PS3 is just gearing up for a great year with some expected hot releases. Here’s a rundown of three games coming out in ’08.. EA’s NFL Tour, Free Radical Design’s HAZE, and Konami’s Coded Arms Assault.
Coming from EA Sport’s BIG division is what can be considered a bit of a spin-off of their hit series NFL Street. They’ve gotten rid of the streets and beaches in favor of larger spectacle arenas. No more playing with barrels and street side walls, you’re playing in front of huge crowds with pyrotechnics and the whole 9 yards. There are some advancements in gameplay as well – if a player initiates contact you are given an opportunity to break through the tackle, trip up the receiver or give your hit a little extra “umph”. Street players will see the familiar “Gamebreaker” power-ups, and much of the game is left unchanged otherwise but an upgrade on the look of the graphics. This game is expected to drop on January 8th so get ready for it!
Playing as a recruit of a corporate army owned by a large supposedly peace-keeping organization Mantel you are expected to play this game through atleast twice. Why twice? Well once on both sides obviously, this is because playing on Mantel’s side your realize that you along with your fellow soliders are randomly pumped up with a drug called Nectar, but this leads to some unexpected consequences. The other time through you take the side of the rebels you so viciously were fighting. With some great looking graphics and AI that apparently doesn’t feel useless… this gem is being released stateside January 18th.
CODED ARMS ASSAULT
Konami released a game on the PSP early in the system’s lifetime by the names of Coded Arms and after receiving success with the title they’ve gone ahead and made another in the series for the PS3. Like HAZE, Coded Arms Assault is a futuristic FPS with you playing a solider. Apparently your character is a young hacker who gained access into a system they shouldn’t have been in and is placed in a virtual warfare. Bullets are replaced with hexagons, and enemies vaporize. With the game running off the Unreal 3 engine expect some gorgeous looking graphics to go along with the “digitized” effects. This game doesn’t have an official release date yet, but just from the looks of it you’ll hear about it when it’s released.
Video games give little boys the opportunity to play major league sports in the comfort of their own home, and fantasize about what it would be like if they donned a colorful jersey of their favorite football or basketball team and took on their opponent in a National playoff game.
These action sports are displayed in realistic regulation sized court settings that come complete with the cheering fan sounds that come from a sell-out crowd, or a player might be subjected to boos and hisses from fans, that are emitted following a bad play on the playing field that resulted in an interception when the ball is on the 10 yard line.
All of these athletically oriented video games allow children to mentally interact in a fast paced game environment. These young children will become very knowledgeable about the physical movements that are required to play basketball and football, before they are ever tasked to perform these actions in real life.
These athletic video games have a unique personalization attached to them, and children identify with many major NBA team players that they see on the basketball courts on weekday nights and weekends throughout the year. These video games help to reinforce confidence levels in children and remind them that they can do anything they want in life if they are willing to put in enough effort to refine their talents.
Fathers and sons can form a bonded relationship through video games. The helpful hints and life learning experiences can be shared between family members, and each one realizes how very talented the other person is in different aspects of game play. Perhaps the parent excels at finding lost treasure, and the child can complete snowboarding flips better than their father. In many cases, the child becomes a teacher for a time, and they always enjoy that opportunity immensely.
A lot of fun can be achieved when families share game controllers and drive race cars haphazardly through city streets. The amusement of cars repeatedly crashing into buildings with no sign of car damage and children running over any pedestrian they choose at any point in the game can get very comical at times. Video games allow children to develop a sense of humor and develop a keen perception that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Children learn very quickly about how to set up a video game consoles and attach the various game controllers. They become unlicensed computer technicians when they can instruct other people how to use the systems without batting an eye. They learn how memory cards work and how much memory a certain game will take up on their card. Memory cards are very useful to children because they tire quickly of playing a game that needs to be restarted time after time with no winner or end in sight.
Video games are very durable and can take a large amount of abuse before they are broken. The thick plastic that surrounds these electronic game cards is impact resistant and can take many years of wear and tear before they will malfunction. Many people find smaller games more suitable for road trips and vacations, and realize the importance of purchasing a multimedia console that the whole family can enjoy viewing in the living room of their home too.
